Auraria Library is thrilled to announce the re-opening of our newly renovated Ask Us Desk!

If you’ve frequented the Library over the past four months you might have noticed the large, white walls obscuring your path to the Ask Us Desk. Those walls helped mute some of the noise and kept everyone safe while this service point was transformed to better meet everyone’s needs.

We required more space to house the lendable textbooks, calculators, chargers, and anatomical models that you need, and the renovation added another 666 square feet, giving us a total of 1,361 square feet. The additional space allows us to provide better, more efficient services to our users.

One of the biggest changes you’ll see is a larger, continuous desk with four service points and multi-height features. With an added service point, we can maximize staffing efficiencies, providing shorter wait times and additional expertise to answer questions.  The multi-height feature makes this desk more approachable and accessible for everyone in our community.

We were also able to add more shelving units to house our collection, which had already outgrown the previous space. Plus, we were able to keep our functional display cases to better highlight the wonderful, useful items we have available for checkout at the desk.  This added storage and thoughtful placing of the collection makes us more efficient as everything is now easier to find; and it gives us room to grow the collection in the future to meet your wants and needs.
